Our current slide show features the work of  Willem Claesz Heda (1594-1680), a Dutch artist devoted to painting still life subjects. Details in paintings like these provide some of the research material used by the Guild in resourcing the replicas used in their presentations.

Welcome to the website of the Guild of Gentry & Allied Skills. The small illustration here is taken from a photograph snapped by one of our members at an event several years ago. This was not a posed arrangement- it is a typical example of the scenes we create at our events.

Introduction

The Guild of Gentry & Allied Skills is a costumed history interpretation group specialising in the portrayal of domestic life in early 17th century Britain. Our volunteer members appear at appropriate heritage properties throughout the country and we have worked with English Heritage, the National Trust, local government educational departments, museums and for private enterprises.
